About Us

Puzzle Pieces SL was established in 2019 as a non-profit organization with the goals and objectives of raising awareness about Autism in Sierra Leone and providing financial and other support to schools that support children who are on the Autism Spectrum 

There is limited knowledge and awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disorders such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorders to name a few in Sierra Leone. In addition, there are limited resources and facilities to help children who are on the ASD.

Children on the spectrum in Sierra Leone are not accepted into traditional school settings and/or drop out of school simply because they learn differently and/or have learning difficulties and disorders. Some are severely abused, made fun of and there are those that society and communities (teachers, parents) give up on simply because they don’t believe they have what it takes to succeed at school and life in general.
